Meet Our Team
Dr. SP Mpungose
Periodontist and Founder of uthotho Implants & Periodontics and uthotho Implants Academy
uthotho Implants and Periodontics was founded by Siphesihle Mpungose, affectionately known as S’phe by his colleagues and friends. The company started in 2019 providing freelance services to the dental community of Gauteng and Newcastle in Kwa-Zulu Natal. However, we are happy to finally have a home of our own in Sandton, where we provide first-class periodontal/dental services using technology that is in line with the latest evidence-based dentistry.

Dr. Mpungose qualified as a general dentist in 2004 and later obtained a postgraduate qualification in advanced implant dentistry and was registered at the University of the Western Cape where he qualified as a periodontist.
The journey continued after he became a qualified specialist dentist in periodontology. He became a consultant at the University of the Western Cape where he trained undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Dr. Mpungose is now happily based at the University of the Witwatersrand in the heart of Johannesburg as Head of the Clinical Unit. He is also available privately as our Periodontist at uthotho Implants and Periodontics where private care is offered.
